The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday cancelled class 10 exams and postponed class 12 exams due to increase in COVID-19 cases. The CBSE 10th, the 12th board exams which is going to be scheduled held from 4th may.The decision was under taken at a higher level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Cabinet Secretary, School and Higher Education Secretaries and other top officials attended the meeting.
The pandemic situation in the country is seeing an increasing of COVID-19 positive cases in many states, with a few states having been affected more than others. In this situation, schools have been shut down in 11 states.
After watching the scenario of the pandemic and increasing in COVID-19 cases. The government took decision for student safety and well being. The govt has decided to postpone the CBSE Board Exams 2021.
